Job Description:

Coordination of maintenance functions, including equipment repairs, component replacement, and preventive maintenance tasks which directly impacts the maintenance budget. Plans and schedules Maintenance functions in a precise and timely manner. Provide cost and time estimates for outages and other equipment repairs utilizing the plants CMMS system. Process all work requests that requires planning and scheduling. Review work requests/orders data for accuracy. Work closely with maintenance and production representatives to communicate and coordinate the timing of the schedules.Qualifications/ Skills/ Knowledge & EducationCollege education preferred. Manufacturing plant maintenance experience required and ability to supervise hourly employees.Roles and ResponsibilitiesLearn, accept and live Century Aluminum's Safety Mission StatementCoordination of equipment downtime with production. Managing the backlog to avert loss of production and escalating maintenance cost, using communication tools such as e-mail, weekly planning meeting, face to face, telephone, and Gantt chart.Manage the backlog through long and short range planning. Prioritize work orders that require labor and material in advice of scheduling. Authorization of minor work for entry into the backlog. Ensure accuracy of backlog through the elimination of duplicate work orders unwarranted requests.Writes requisitions for direct purchase as needed, obtains necessary competitive bids, and verifies delivery dates. Monitors material/parts delivery, and receives all maintenance material whether for direct purchases or stores for their planned work.Schedules and coordinates for the process of allocating the resources for specific jobs and determines what jobs are scheduled and which resources can best be applied to their performance. Issues current and well-organized backlog reports to production and maintenance supervision in preparation for weekly scheduling meeting. Understand their workloads, short and long-term plans, and priorities. Support the Production Team with maintenance knowledge and mechanical expertise to allow them to manage their operation as effectively as possible.Administrative duties include coordinating with the Maintenance CMMS Administrator, responsible for the custodianship of the CMMS. Maintains essential records and files form, which he prepares and distributes accurate, and meaningful management reports. Interpretation and provision of historical equipment cost information. Participation in budgetary preparation, tracking, and analysis. Assists the Maintenance Engineer and the Production Manager in periodic analysis of cost trends with recommendations for continual improvements.
