The engineer must also hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of all team members at Century Aluminum. The ideal candidate will have the follow qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 8+ years' experience in the Engineering fieldExperience in a heavy industrial setting preferredStrong leadership, organization, and technical skills. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsProficient with computers, computer software, and other available tools which improve quality and productivityRoles and Responsibilities:Perform assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilitiesApply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasksResponsible for the design and redesign of machine drives, controls, and power distribution systems to increase plant reliability and reduce breakdownsWill handle electrical portions of projects and act as Project Engineer where appropriateShould be willing and able to provide technical assistance to electricians in diagnosis of equipment malfunctionsNew equipment design and developmentPerform risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards and electrical engineering codes Structural or building design, circuit or control design and developmentEvaluate systems and recommend design modifications or equipment repair Preparation and approval of detailed drawingsSurveying, testing, and evaluating materials and processesPrepare cost estimatesProvide leadership in troubleshooting or non-routine equipment repairsSchedule work and prepare preventative maintenance plansReporting and presenting as applicable An Equal Opportunity Employer PI177867959
