Job Description:

Responsible for assisting surgeons during intraoperative procedures. Privileges under the direct supervision of the surgeon include the following: Responsibilities Safety ---- --Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety. Record Keeping ---- Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required. ---- Process Improvement ---- --Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system's process improvement goals. ---- Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed. Roles and Responsibilities ---- Assist surgeon with gowning, gloving, prepping and draping. ---- Facilitate safe positioning of patient according to the surgeon's preference, patient's anatomical and physiological limits, and surgical procedure to be performe ---- Assist surgeon with passing instruments or suture and basic assisting. ---- Provides exposure, assists in achieving homeostasis with surgeon's super ---- Provides manipulation and dissection and / or removal of tissues, aids in implanting, securing, and/or removal of devises and dra ---- Performs layered closure of surgical sites utilizing appropriate techniques according to individual surgeon preference. ---- Applies appropriate dressing material specific to procedur ---- Applies splints or casts specific to procedure and/ or injury. ---- Assesses skin integrity and assists in transfer of patient post- operativ ---- Special Requests (based on training and experience) Qualifications Education ---- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Licenses and Certification ---- Current Illinois Registered Nurse License ---- Certification (CNOR) for Certified First Assist Experience and Skills ---- Technical Experience: 2 years of OR experience ---- COVID Vaccination #PIQOp PandoLogic.
