Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
1.
Understands and follows Food Safety Standards. Wears gloves when
appropriate. Uses thermometers to check temperatures. Knows food
danger zone. Refrigerates items promptly. Washes hands thoroughly
and frequently. Wears hair restraint appropriately. Keeps cleaning
cloths in sanitizing solution
2.
Uses chemicals safely and appropriately. Uses correct chemical in
proper dilution. Never mixes chemicals. Reports any chemicals
missing labels. Utilizes PPE when required
3.
Attends meetings, including daily huddle. Regularly attends unit
meetings/care conferences as scheduled. Regularly attends
department meetings
4.
Performs other tasks/projects as requested. Willingly accepts
additional tasks/projects as assigned by a manager. Takes
initiative to complete unassigned tasks without being prompted
5.
Attends all required safety training programs and can describe
his/her responsibilities related to general safety,
department/service safety, specific job related hazards, and
national patient safety goals.

Communicates appropriately. Documents in EPIC using ADIME charting.

Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Documents outcomes. Recommends processes for improvement.

Reports daily activity to manager. Uses time productively. Submits
report in a timely manner.

Provides follow-up to patients. Follows-up within specified time
frame. Assists patient in meeting established goals.

11.
Prioritizes workload. Develops daily goals. Documents completion
and establishes follow-up dates.

Provides nutrition presentations. Presents a professional image.
Provides appropriate information. Includes age specific issues.

Provides relief coverage for other dietitians. Performs appropriate
nutrition assessment intervention and education for other patient
care units and/or outpatient settings.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures
Required:
Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition or Dietetics required.
Kentucky Dietician License, CDR (Commission on Dietetic
Registration), and CPR certification. AGE APPROPRIATE SKILLS AND
KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care
appropriate to the newborn (0 - 28 days), infant (29 days - 1
year), child (1 - 12 years), adolescent (13 - 18 years), adult (19
- 59 years) and geriatric (over 59 years) patient including
principles of growth and development over the life span of the
patient. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the
patient's status, interprets the appropriate information needed to
identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs
and provides the care needed as described in departmental policies
and procedures.
