The Auxiliary & Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for
the oversight, coordination and engagement of volunteers serving
the regions of Carle Richland Memorial Hospital. Works with key
stakeholders within Carle Health and the communities served by
Carle Richland Memorial Hospital to meet various needs through
volunteer resources, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals
and objectives of the organization. The Coordinator serves as the
primary liaison to the Carle Richland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary
and assists with setting and executing strategic direction for the
Auxiliary to fulfill its purpose. The Coordinator provides
operational oversight for The East Street Boutique (gift shop) and
ensures that the boutique fulfills its philanthropic goals. Reports
to the Director of Auxiliary and Volunteer Services for Carle
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational
Leadership, Communication, Public Relations or relevant field.
Two years experience engaging and overseeing volunteers.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and
ability to work effectively with teams and independently. Should be
proficient in the use of computers/database software and general MS
office applications. Prior retail knowledge helpful and comfort
working with (or learning) retail point of sale systems. Knowledge
of Human Resources practices surrounding onboarding and general
compliance requirements. Must possess the ability to rapidly adapt
to changing environments and effectively manage change for team
members. Demonstrated servant leadership and ability to collaborate
to serve the needs of patients and other stakeholders. Must possess
excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task,
prioritize and appropriately delegate. Should be results-oriented
and familiar with setting and achieving strategic goals. Must be
creative and solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to engage
key stakeholders in making informed and inclusive decisions. Should
be proficient in public speaking and making presentations to groups

programs) for the region served by Carle Richland Memorial
Hospital. Includes recruitment, onboarding, placement,
orientation/training, annual competency/education, retention and

Services division. Collaborates with the Director and colleagues
within the division to ensure volunteer programs at CRMH are
compliant with accreditation and regulatory standards and are
aligned with industry best practices.
- Oversees entry, maintenance and accuracy of volunteer database
and service records for CRMH volunteers.
- Engages with key stakeholders to assess needs for volunteers in
the Southern region; establishes volunteer programs and roles to
meet identified needs, including development of related position
descriptions and key competencies, mentoring activities and

philanthropic purpose and has appropriate policies, procedures and

tactics for growth in volunteer programs and Auxiliary retail in
the Southern region.
- Leads volunteer satisfaction/engagement initiatives for CRMH.
Oversees various communication channels for volunteers and rounds
regularly with volunteers to glean inclusive feedback. Formulates
volunteer surveys and develops/executes action plan based on
- Plans and executes special events and recognition/retention
activities for the purpose of honoring CRMH volunteers and their
value to the organization.
- Participates in annual budgeting activities.
- Collaborates with community volunteers and
organizations/businesses to address various volunteer needs.
- Participates in civic groups/service organizations and engages
in public speaking opportunities/events to promote volunteer
programs at CRMH and community support of The East Street

- Leading & mentoring volunteers.
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer who are onsite.
- Coordinates volunteer trainings.
- Maintaining excellent working relationships with a diverse
group of volunteers, staff and gift shop vendors.
