  • Rotating Shift (12 hour shifts)



Ascension St. Vincent Evansville is developing a new Critical Care Transport team to serve our Tri-State area!  This team will be Critical Care staff featuring a mixture of Registered Nurses, Paramedics, and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).  This specialized team will be responsible for the transportation of critically ill patients from a facility where the patient’s needs exceed available resources to a facility that can meet their needs, while maintaining a specialized level of care.

What You Will Do:

Provide high quality patient care in conjunction with fellow team members during transport between facilities.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessment and stabilization of patients as well as any necessary diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
  • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; making or recommending necessary
    adjustments by collaborating with team members and multidisciplinary members.
  • Participate in decision-making and partners with the multidisciplinary team to enhance operational
    efficiency.
  • Complete all appropriate medical documentation.
  • May be required to drive an ambulance to transport patients and/or supplies.
What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

 

  • Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. (ACLS) Required.
  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date Required.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date Required. Allowed in lieu of Pediatric Life Support.
  • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in Flight obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date Required. (CFRN)
  • Drivers License obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date Required.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date Required. Allowed in lieu of Neonatal Resuscitation.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kentucky Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must obtain a temporary or unlimited Registered Nurse License from Kentucky prior to providing patient care in those states. Unlimited licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire date Required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must obtain a temporary or unlimited Registered Nurse License from Illinois prior to providing patient care in those states. Unlimited licensure must be obtained within 6 months of hire date Required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date Required.


One or more of the following Required:

  • Trauma Nurse Specialist certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum credentialed from the Emergency Nurses Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.


Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.


Work Experience:

  • Minimum Qualification: Three years of experience in Emergency Department and/or ICU.
  • Preferred Qualification: Five years of experience in Emergency Department and/or ICU.
