Registered Nurse (RN)

Unit: Emergency Department

Location: Ascension St. Vincent Evansville Main Campus

Available Opportunity

Full Time (36 hours weekly)

Night Shift

12 hours shifts (1900-0700 \ 1500-0300)

Every other weekend

What Our Emergency Department has to offer:

 

• Level II Trauma Center: St. Vincent Evansville is classified as a Level II Trauma Center by the American College of Surgeons - Committee of Trauma for both Adults and Pediatrics. 
• Primary Stroke Center: This certification recognizes the St. Vincent Evansville Emergency Department is making exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes. It is a signal to our community that the quality of care we provide meets the unique and specialized care needs of stroke patients.
• New Partnership with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital: St. Vincent Evansville has now partnered with Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital to provide more Pediatric services in our tri-state area.  These services include the opening of our brand new Pediatric Emergency Department.
• Committed Physician Support: Currently, the St. Vincent Evansville Emergency Department is supported by a full staff of physicians that are Associates themselves. 
• Certified Nursing Support: In the Emergency Department, Nurses are supported by a staff of Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. 
• Onsite StatFlight Team: The Emergency Department works closely with our local StatFlight team of Poliets, Flight Nurses, and Flight Paramedics. 

What You Will Do:

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
