Be a Part of the Nation's Largest Rail Crew Transportation Company! -About PTI - "Where the RIGHT way is the SAFE way" -:Professional Transportation, Inc. has been providing crew transportation services for railroads since 1980 and has an industry reputation for providing quality, reliable, and safe crew transportation services. Much like a shuttle service, PTI receives around-the-clock requests from our railroad customers to pick up and drop off train crews. PTI dispatchers match up drivers with these trips and the drivers safely transport the crews to their destinations. Taking place thousands of times a day, these trips can range from a few miles to a few hundred miles.Benefits SpecialistThe Benefits Specialist is responsible for administration of the 401(k) program, insurance programs, wellness benefit(s), leave administration and other benefit programs for United Companies, supporting sister business units such as United Leasing & Finance and Romain Automotive Group.Job Description: Medical InsuranceEffectively administer, reconcile, and disburse payment for each benefit plan by working with the third-party administrator and broker to include open enrollment, continuous enrollment and/or employee questions.Communicate approaching deadlines, enrollment forms to new and current employees on their eligibilityNotify and partner with the third-party administrator to ensure enrollment, qualifying events and terminations are processed accurately and timelyAssure receipt of new employee elections/waivers, review for accuracy, track and prepare for enrollmentAnswer or assist employee in inquires.Provide new employees with an explanation of benefits and instruct them on enrollment and fulfillment proceduresServe as the primary point of contact for all benefits related communication within United Companies.Administer COBRAAssist employee with enrolling in medical, dental, vision and supplemental insurance plansInform employees of changes to the benefits structureResolve employee issues with insurance providers and other benefits administratorsConsult with employees about eligibility and other issuesReview bi-weekly payroll deductions related job dutiesProvide ongoing support for benefits and HR teamsProcess job relevant transactions quickly and accuratelyCooperate with other HR professionals when requiredWellness Program SupportDistribute health screening incentive forms to qualifying employees. -Provide controllers with qualifier names.Clerical Wellness Program Support, e.g. compiling and maintaining the State certification binder.Coordinate with Tri-State Community Clinics to ensure Wellness Program is efficient and effective401(k) SupportEffectively administer by working with the third-party administrator to include open enrollment, continuous enrollment and/or employee questions.Maintain and communicate 401(k) communication eligibility after their first anniversary and in time for their first-of-the-quarter entry dates.Coordinate educational seminars with third-party administrator.Leaves AdministrationAdminister, project manage, and communicate leave of absences, FMLA usage and other issues as required by our internal policies and legal requirementsTrack FMLA and other leave of absences.Administer and manage leave programs, including updating and improving system.Research questions from Human Resources department and employees about leave policies.Ensure that forms, reports, deductions, and adjustments are collected, recorded, and filed on time.Communicate with human resources department and employees about leave program.Serve as the primary point of contact for all leave of absence, FMLA, and reasonable accommodation issue requests within United Companies.Safe Driver ProgramCommunicate and deliver to each Branch Manager the PTI Drivers which have met the bench mark to receive an award according to the respective union collective bargain agreement.Deliver the proper award to each BranchTrack and provide reports to internal customers.Order necessary safety awards from third-party vendorMaintain inventoryReconcile employee listing to remain complaintCorporate CulturePromote and participate in employee communication, wellness, and recognition programsDeliver leadership to the Wellness team on a variety of projects, including the annual Wellness FairPromote an atmosphere of teamwork within the department and with other departmentsSpecial ProjectsComplete special projects and duties related to HR as assigned, such as conducting research, auditing to assure compliance with employment law and procedures, metrics reporting and analysis, etc.Administer employee surveys as designated.Coordinate "Best Companies/Dealerships to Work For" - applicationsAssist in overflow of HR phone calls.*This does not necessarily list all responsibilities, duties, requirements or efforts associated with the job. While this list is intended to be an accurate reflection of the job, the company reserves the right to review and modify the functions, duties and requirements of the job or to require that additional or different tasks be performed as circumstances or business needs require.Job Requirements:Education:Associates Degree in a business related major or at least 2+ years of relevant benefits administration experience required.Bachelor's Degree preferred or at least 4 years of a combination of education and experience.Experience: - - - - - - - - -2+ years of experience with HR-type functions (such as benefits insurance, leave administration, FMLA, Award recognition, training, etc.).Other Skills and Requirements:Possess a sound understanding of Human Resources principles, concepts, and strategies.Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills, in person, on the telephone and in writing, even in stressful situations.Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and work without constant supervision on multiple tasks.Strong interpersonal abilities to deal effectively with employees and external contacts at all levels.Possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with databases (HRIS experience is preferred) and with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Must consistently demonstrate the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Possess a basic understanding of employment law.Perform other duties as many be assigned at management discretion.Travel as business needs will require, currently expected to be -5-10%.Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, Supplemental InsurancePaid vacation, sick, and holiday time401KDrug Free Work ForceOn The Job TrainingDiscounted Cellphone Plans -EEO
