Job SummaryCenterPoint Energy is looking for a Lead Programmer Analyst to join our Advanced Digital Solutions Team, located in Evansville, IN. You will have the ability to: demonstrate your experience in the design, configuration, development, deployment and support of enterprise level software. The qualified candidate will have experience working in an agile team environment and capable of delivering new software product capabilities. I nterfaces with clients at various organizational levels to plan, develop, evaluate, assess, or modify applications in support of different business units. Transforms or translate business requirements into technical specifications, takes business requirements and delivers and/or directs execution of technical work to yield new capabilities for electric and gas delivery operations. Essential Functions

  • Perform planning, development, coding, testing, and production support of applications components and system interfaces.
  • Perform analysis of client requirements and designs or modifies programs/systems to meet those requirements. Prepares models, (event, process, data, object, etc.) and prototypes as needed.
  • Support analysis and evaluation of packaged software and assists in implementation of packaged software.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to define the scope and objectives for all assigned projects using standardized documentation techniques
  • Coordinate with other IT on premise infrastructure groups such as security, compute, network, help desk and database teams to ensure overall success of the application enhancements and upgrades. Coordinates with team members on private cloud deployment of certain system components.
  • Coordinate with other IT and client groups on system integration points and end to end support of business process. Teams include varies business, SAP, middleware, market systems, AMS and GIS teams.
  • Design, code, document, and test software components. Primarily focused on Oracle PL/SQL but may as include custom development in .Net/C#
  • Design and participate in system testing, performance testing, failover testing and code reviews.
  • Work to understand business functional needs and develop utility business acumen over time.
  • Contribute process improvement ideas and participate in implementation strategy development.
  • Contribute to the development of coding standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of test plans and test scripts for manual and automated testing. Ensure high quality and accuracy is maintained through to software release. Execution of test plans and test scripts to test software components and demonstrate the business requirements are delivered. Provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements. Facilitate the completion of User Acceptance Testing.
  • Assist in the execution of DevOps and DevSecOps strategies. Assist in the maintenance and execution of DevOps tool sets. Education Description
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline Experience
      • Requires a minimum of eight years of solution/software design and development related experience, including C#, .Net and Oracle/PL-SQL development experience.
      • Required Technology Experience: Oracle PL/SQL, Linux, application/database performance testing, Web Services, SOAP
      • Understanding of continuous improvement (CI) techniques (Lean, Kanban, 5S, etc) and general knowledge of DevOps strategies.
      • Background in Advanced Distribution Management Systems, Outage Management Systems, Advance Metering Systems and/or Control Systems is preferred. ---------------
