Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 11/17/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring recent Epic experience and a compact RN license. Responsibilities - Hospital Med/Surg unit with a 41-bed capacity - Typical patient population includes post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF cases - Night shift schedule is 12 hours from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. - Nurse-to-patient ratio at night is typically 1:6-7 - First to float within skillset; possible float to Newburgh (IN) or Henderson (KY) campuses with at least 2 hours' notice - Three weekends required in every six-week period and alternating holidays - Uses the Epic EMR; recent Epic experience required - May be required to precept students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital team - Experienced leadership and CNA support are available on the unit - Dress code prohibits scrubs with competing health system or agency logos - More than three call-ins may result in termination - COVID-19 vaccine is not currently required, but subject to change Requirements - Active IN or compact RN license - Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications - Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required - At least one prior travel assignment completed - Trauma level II experience required - Proficiency with remote telemetry, chest tubes, NG/PEG tubes, straight cath/Foleys, ostomies, Heparin drips, blood and blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management - Recent Epic charting experience required - Must possess strong assessment, critical thinking, and adaptability skills - References and all certifications must be provided for consideration - No candidates living within a 40-mile radius will be considered Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628659.
