Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 12/01/2025 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Observation unit requiring an active compact RN license, strong clinical skills, and Epic experience. Responsibilities - Position is in a 23-bed Observation Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting - Day shift schedule: 12-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM - Three weekends required in each six-week schedule - Every other holiday coverage required - Possible float to sister campuses up to 11 miles away with 2-hour notice - Patient population includes cardiac, CVA/TIA, post-surgical, GI/urology, AKI, cellulitis, and detox/CIWA cases - Day shift patient ratios are 1:4-5; higher ratios during other time blocks - Strong teamwork environment with a welcoming staff - Opportunity to precept students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital - Navy blue scrubs required; no hoodies, sweatshirts, or facility/agency logos allowed - Three call-ins may result in termination - Unit manager is highly experienced and oversees units with low turnover - No local candidates accepted within a 40-mile radius - COVID-19 vaccine is not required at this time but may be subject to change Requirements - Active IN or compact RN license required - American Heart Association BLS and NIHSS certifications required - Minimum two years of Med/Surg experience and at least one travel assignment required - Recent Epic charting experience required - Strong assessment and critical thinking skills necessary - Cardiac cath recovery, neuro assessment, drip titration, drain and NG tube management experience required Benefits - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-625709.
