Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Observation Unit Duration: 18 months Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: IN or compact license required Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: - Required skills in Med/Surg, starting IVs, and nasal cannula. - Preferred interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and previous charge experience. Description: Charge coverage responsibilities may be needed depending on operational needs. Training and resources will be provided for charge nurse responsibilities. Candidates must be comfortable with charge coverage. This unit is medical surgical and is directly adjacent to the emergency department. Patients are held overnight for continued workup as observation patients. The unit serves patients with medical surgical diagnoses such as COVID, abdominal pain, respiratory distress, and other symptoms requiring further evaluation. Floating to other units or affiliate hospitals is required for all travelers. Candidates must have required certifications as specified in the job description. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Candidate must hold relevant experience as per the job description. All additional information regarding background policy and supervisor references will be communicated prior to consideration. COVID-19 vaccination is not required, but a flu vaccine is required with specified exemptions allowed.
