Job Description:
TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a
qualified PCU RN in Evansville, Indiana, 47714 About The Position
Summary : Progressive care nursing jobs involve care for patients
requiring close monitoring and frequent assessment, but who aren`t
unstable enough to need ICU care. PCU nurses monitor cardiac and
other critical vital signs and detect any changes, thereby enabling
intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations. Reports
to the Unit Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities: Provides
nursing care to critically ill patients diagnosed with Heart
attack, defibrillator or pacemaker implant or other cardiac
condition. Stroke. Proficient in performing and interpreting EKG.
Able to recognize Lethal Dysrhythmias . Proficient team member in
Cardiac Code. Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and
detect any changes, thereby enabling intervention of
life-threatening or emergency situations. Initiates and revises the
patient`s plan of care based on continuing assessments. Includes
patient teaching and discharge planning in overall plan of care.
Incorporates clinical and technical aspects of care with nursing
actions and interventions in accordance with established policies,
standards and procedures. Documents nursing interventions and
patient response according to hospital policy. Evaluates
effectiveness of nursing interventions and methods of
implementation. Practices within the limits of the state`s Nurse
Practice Act and health care facility and nursing administrative
policies. Supervises ancillary personnel in their performance of
assigned job-related duties. Ensures patient confidentiality and
the rights of the patient. Maintains and updates skills needed for
excellence in patient care. Administer complex Cardiac Medications
including titration based on the patient`s vital signs. Education &
Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of
Nursing, with current licensure in good standing. Minimum of One
year of current hospital experience in PCU Specialty. Evidence of
