Cardio-Thoracic Surgery Opportunity - Cape Girardeau, MO
SoutheastHEALTH (SEH), Cape Girardeau, Missouri, has identified the need to recruit an experienced and capable cardiothoracic surgeon to join our top-quality practice. This position is intended to become a thriving team member with our existing practice.

The SEH CT Surgery program is affiliated with Washington University (St. Louis) Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, consistently ranked among the top ten heart programs in the country. This affiliation affords our CT Surgeons the opportunity for a faculty appointment at Washington University, participation in quarterly M&M conferences with on-site attendance by Washington University surgeons, telemedicine consults, and educational and training opportunities both on-site and in St. Louis.

Southeast Hospital is a community hospital licensed for 244 beds, providing the best in healthcare services since 1928. It is the flagship hospital of SoutheastHEALTH, a two-hospital healthcare system serving a population of 675,000 across southeastern Missouri, southern Illinois and surrounding states. It is located along the Mississippi River in the largest community between St. Louis (approximately 1½ hour drive time) and Memphis (approximately 3-hour drive time). SEH Cardiothoracic Surgery is the largest cardiothoracic surgery program between St. Louis and Memphis.

Southeast Hospital has recently earned The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association's Heart-Check mark for Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification.     Cardiothoracic Surgeon Minimum Requirements
    
    
  • Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery with extensive training in adult cardiac surgery procedures
    
  • Performed more than 300 cardiac surgery procedures with a minimum of 150 cases as lead surgeon
    
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a cardiothoracic surgeon in the U.S.
    
  • Have documentable high-quality outcomes and operating statistics indicating state-of-the-art thoracic and cardiac surgery practice capabilities, including cardiac valve repair & replacement, minimally invasive techniques and other innovative procedures
    
  • Have sound personal and professional reasons for seeking to locate to Cape Girardeau, MO for the long term
