Maintenance Manager
Job Description:This position must promote and advance the Century Business Philosophy and values using proven management techniques, and sound judgement. This position requires good management techniques of time, materials, manpower, and available resources to achieve success. The Maintenance Manager must also hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of all team members at Century Aluminum. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree
• 5+ years experience in Management
• Experience in a heavy industrial setting preferred
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair
• Strong leadership, organization, and technical skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient with computers, computer software, and other available tools which improve quality and productivityRoles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage a 24/7 Maintenance staff in order to properly support the plant
  • Lead and supervise the preventative maintenance program for all equipment in the facility
  • Lead response on all major equipment failures
  • Manage all Capital Expenditure projects including the use of any outside contractors and equipment
  • Prepare and forecast a budget for the Maintenance Department for the fiscal year
  • Prepare timelines and schedule for all equipment downtime-coordinate with the Operations Group to have access to the equipment as required
  • Ensure project deadlines are met while operating within the established budget
  • Actively participate in the aspects of department operations including raw material scheduling, raw material quality, operating budget, and labor and employee management
  • Perform assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities
  • Prepare routine and special reports as assigned
  • Work cooperatively with other senior management to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships within the company
  • Supervise and develop others by setting clear goals and objectives, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing issues promptly
  • Analyze and improve existing processes where necessary
