In collaboration with the Global Creative Director (GCD) the Copy Development Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and authenticity of all written copy for Berry Global including Tone of Voice, Advertising, Promotional, Creative Marketing, Social and Digital Content through Brand Positioning, Consumer-Understanding, Content Design and Execution. Through effective communication, he/she are required to direct, delight, inform and inspire our customers and are responsible for all strategic and tactical copy development/writing for advertorial and promotional verbal communication across the Berry Global portfolio.
Responsibilities:In collaboration with Global Marketing and the GCD the Copy Development Manager:

  • Helps develop and deliver written content across all relevant media touch points
  • Participates in the content and creative development for all campaigns
  • Are category experts and through years of expertise, possessing a demonstrated experience and knowledge within the communication/copy writing profession
  • Are required to interface with cross-functional teams early, in all stages of projects, assisting the GCD with the execution of processes to create engaging customer experiences, helping to set the future vision for the Berry Branded portfolioThe position supports the development and execution of holistic branded experiences across; Advertising, Promotion, Creative Marketing, Social, Digital, Corporate Brand Identity, Brand ExperienceThey will execute all relevant copy development projects and is responsible for the overall quality of writing.They will manage copy from concept to completion and translates all Marketing key messages and product highlights into experiential strategies and executions, ensuring that all written communication requirements are met across all projects: ad space, sales pieces, website, direct email, tradeshows, webinars, podcasts, keynote addresses, social, etc.
    Other Responsibilities include:
    • Demonstrate the ability to concept big, B2B campaign ideas
    • Demonstrate the ability to translate business ideas into creative concepts
    • Provide strategic advice for copy/content to both global and local marketing teams, influencing the application of the brand globally
    • Network within the broader copy-writing community to draw on both contemporary & best-in-class trends, leveraging all agency network/s, maintaining an understanding of global category, market-place trends and business needs
    • If required, at a Macro Level, develop branded design and communication tenants for the portfolio of Berry Global D2C brands. This can include Concept Development, Brand Experience, Equity development and brand governance books
    • Develop Tone of Voice and communication standards for all tactical channels through managed and maintained Brand Equity Manuals
    • Help develop new creative strategy ideas for brand/category as a whole
    • Participate in market research and analysis, understanding general marketplace trends across category, product and product lines and can presenting findings & opinions to the organization, maintaining a database of these presentations
    • Share training, workshops, tools, etc. to enhance the creative team's overall professionalism and skills - Work with the GCD to develop, optimize and standardize methodologies and best practices for the Berry Brand and portfolio
    • Develops, in conjunction with Global Marketing and the GCD, the communication tenants, effectively managing the strategic copy deployment and tactical delivery of all copy requirements
    • Support the GCD during brainstorming, campaign and "big-Idea"-development sessions
    • Participate in all copy requirement meetings as neededNote: May perform additional/related duties as assigned or requested

      • 6+ Years or more Agency/Internal Studio Experience
