The Laboratory Quality / Accreditation / Safety & Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality, accreditation and safety functions of laboratory services including policy development and implementation; sourcing and testing of equipment and procedures; ensuring compliance with all safety, regulatory and accreditation requirements; and managing special projects under the guidance of the System Laboratory Director, including but not limited to new service line development, and RFI-RFP processes when initiated.

$44.97/hr minimum - $67.46/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)

Responsibilities
Department Management
When temporarily assigned over a site Laboratory to cover vacations.
Maintains 24-hour accountability for department, making independent decisions to implement strategies and programs.
Delegate's authority and accountability to staff to ensure optimal outcomes and staff engagement.
Evaluates effectiveness of department-based programs and processes to ensure optimal outcomes.
Staff Interaction
Maintains policy / procedure reviewed records and actively notify the site leaders for any fall outs.
Helps the Administrative Director and site Managers in staffing matrix reviews and new model development.
Role Specific
Develops and maintains appropriate policies and procedures for the Laboratory System.
Supports and communicates Laboratory initiatives and philosophies.
Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for laboratory procedures, processes and instruments.
Collects, collates and reports quality data for all SIH Laboratories
Assists with competency assessment throughout SIH Laboratories as necessary.
Assists System Director with the maintenance of System Level policies and procedures, including the development of new policies and procedures, periodic review of existing policies and procedures, and also works with Laboratory Managers to manage local policies.
Manages Quality Control products and data for the system, assisting Managers, Supervisors and Lead Techs as necessary.
Researches new tests, technology and instruments.
Participates in the selection process for new instruments.
Monitors, reviews and audits all safety procedures and practices of system-wide labs.
Trains and educates all laboratory employees on safety procedures.
Oversees and coordinates Laboratory safety projects and initiatives.
Maintains confidentiality with respect to all employee information.
Maintains appropriate privacy and confidentiality of all patient information.
Is familiar with and meets all regulatory standards for the handling and performance of proficiency testing.
Ensures that all laboratory charges are posted in a timely fashion and periodically reviews/audits charges to ensure accuracy of laboratory bills.
Promotes a culture of process improvement by establishing System Laboratory based programs that supports the system's process improvement goals.
Works with other departments using Lean processes to improve patient care.
Participates in Lean activities and promotes Lean process improvement within all SIH Laboratory Departments and encourages staff participation in Lean Daily Management.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, physical or clinical laboratory science (or medical technology).
MLS (ASCP) or MT (AMT) is required.
Five years of experience as a Technical Coordinator or Technical Supervisor in a Trauma I or II designated hospital.
Knowledge about all lab testing and operational activities.
Excellent problem-solving skills for trouble shooting of operational issues.
