• Requisition R-484292 Position Summary... What you'll do... The Health Policy --Advisor provides overall direction by analyzing public policy proposals for their impact on Walmart and its stakeholder s . This subject matter expert will identif y trends that will shape public policy discourse and provide insight on how to promote Walmart's interests in response to those trends , as well as translate their analysis for consumption by policy makers and the media , in support of the government relations and communications teams. You'll make an impact by:---
  • Develop ing and coordinat ing Walmart's policy agenda and priorities across markets, as a subject matter expert, and build collaborative systems across departments, ensuring meaningful policy positions and responses to strengthen and expand our operations.
    • Proactively monitor ing and analyz ing legislative and regulatory policy to provide corporate response recommendations, per business impact.
    • Consistently advis ing and inform ing executive leadership and core business operations leadership on the external policy environment, highlighting its ability to affect Walmart's license to operate.
    • Develop ing and manag ing relationships with internal and external thought leaders, trade and industry associations, NGOs, and others to advance Walmart's policy priorities, building internal and external coalitions in the process.--
    • Be ing an ambassador and enhanc ing the external public understanding of Walmart's role in communities and as an agent for change through speaking at events, various forms of communication, and stakeholder management.
    • Provid ing rapid and insightful analytic assessments on real-time policy shifts and opportunities to corporate leadership.--
      • Trend-spot ting and lead ing deep, long-term public policy research and thought leadership initiatives to inform corporate planning and strategy to influence a more robust public awareness of Walmart's impact .
      • Collaborat ing with other team members to propose and initiate new public policy workstreams and partnerships that benefit Walmart . You'll sweep us off our feet if---
        • You have 8+ years' experience and demonstrated success in public policy, advocacy, government and or corporate public and government affairs with a strong understanding of policymaking processes and arenas for private sector influence
          • You have a Bachelor's degree in government/political science, economics, international affairs, business, advanced degree preferred
          • You have d emonstrated the ability to anticipate and highlight complex policy problems, evaluate options, and implement solutions
          • You have experience in working in matrixed environments with an ability to navigate complex organizations and spark collaboration across teams and departments
          • You have experience managing and cultivating stakeholder relationships and maintain trust and integrity
