Senior Reliability EngineerJob Description:This position must promote and advance the Century Business Philosophy and values using proven engineering principles, techniques, and sound judgement. This position requires good management techniques of time, materials, manpower, and available resources to achieve success. The engineer must also hold paramount the safety, health, and welfare of all team members at Century Aluminum. The ideal candidate will have the follow qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 8+ years' experience in the Engineering/Reliability fieldExperience in a heavy industrial setting preferredStrong leadership, organization, and technical skills. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsProficient with computers, computer software, and other available tools which improve quality and productivityRoles and Responsibilities:Work with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Participate in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.Participate in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.Guide efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.Provide input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely affect plant operation.Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operationsData analysis techniques Statistical Process Control, Reliability modeling and prediction, Fault Tree Analysis, and Root-Cause Analysis (RCA, RCFA)Provide technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.Apply value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
