Job Description:

CAD Technician, Field Support, BIM equipment
Chicago, IL (North Side)
$60k-$75k

80-year old construction firm needs a well-rounded CAD Technician to support Project Managers by preparing layouts, detailed drawings, sketches, and diagrams.

Must have solid understanding of drafting techniques to include all views and dimensions necessary for construction.
Need familiarity with CAD, BIM equipment and relationship of CAD to BIM.
Generate product submittals for architectural reviews.
Communicate how roofing and waterproofing systems are installed. Prior experience in waterproofing a plus.
Create details including dimensions, callouts, product descriptions, instructions, etc.
Generate and maintain warranties and other compliance paperwork on all projects.
Travel to local jobsites required. (A car and valid driver's license is needed.)
Candidate should have proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, and BIM (helpful.)
Construction background as a project engineer a plus.
Candidates should be able to communicate effectively to customers, contractors, architects, etc.
Minimum Associate's degree with 2 to 3 years' experience is needed.
