The Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship
site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At
the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets, capsules for over 60+
markets. The Mt Vernon site is the largest AZ production site in
the US and is located in the southwest corner of the state of
Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana - the
third largest city in the state of Indiana. The Mt. Vernon site is
dedicated to creating a culture of inclusion and collaboration. We

The Senior Project Manager leads and manages projects that support
the organization; responsible for all phases of a project including
business justification, project initiation, planning, controlling,
monitoring, execution, and closure. Project responsibilities also
include project team management, team member management, and
project communications. The scope of work includes projects or
programs related to new product introductions, technical transfers,
rapid launches, site-to-market launches, and site priority and
transformation initiatives within (or across) a supply site or
supply chain. The position interfaces with global Operations
colleagues on product launches and/or global initiatives and with
the commercial organization in support of brand projects.

job title:
Operational
- Leads, directs, and manages cross-functional global project
teams to support business and operations strategies and improvement
opportunities including: technical transfers, product launches,
site-to-market launches, asset commercial readiness, and other
critical site projects.
- Understands strategic project necessities and translates those
into detailed project plans. Ensures project plans support
achievement of critical milestones.
- Leads and facilitates cross-site and cross-functional
interactions between Global Manufacturing and Supply-Mt. Vernon,
sister sites, and groups such as Pharmaceutical Development,
Marketing Companies, GES (Global External Sourcing), Quality,
Supply Chain, Regulatory, Technical Services, Pre-Commercial CST,
and Global Operations Leadership Teams.
- Proactively identifies potential issues and opportunities;
develops contingency plans as needed. Guides conflict resolution at
project team level and facilitates decision-making within the team.
Escalates when decision rights exceed established boundaries.
- Facilitates the project development process by providing
external colleagues with an understanding of the site's
manufacturing capabilities and by formulating plans based on the
site's ability and potential to deliver against project
necessities.
- Offers innovative ideas and solutions to further enhance and
improve the project management process.
- Continuously reviews plan execution against target. Anticipates
problems, develops alternatives, and ensures key contributors and
team members are fully aware of changes and developments. Manages
changes to project scope.
- Identifies and controls project risks using the integrated risk
management framework.
- Establishes strong working relationships with key internal and
external customers and demonstrates personal ownership and
accountability for results with a focus on customer service.
Creates and complete team member management and communications
plans.
- Coordinates the activities and decision-making processes of a
diverse group of multi-functional technical experts. Understands
complex technical issues and effectively communicates their impact
to a wide audience within the organization.
- Understands the implications of product formulation, packaging
configurations, anticipated volumes, and third- party
services.
- Communicates the implications of multiple project execution on
the organization; ensures all internal colleagues are aligned to
provide equipment, materials, and services to support the
completion of the project. Resolve issues and negotiates conflicts
within and across projects.
- Uses planning tools to ensure complex projects remain on
schedule and coordinates parallel activities. Handles potential
roadblocks and proactively resolves problems.
- Mentors other members of the Project Management team as
needed.
- Contributes to the development, maintenance, and improvement of
Project Management metrics.
- Performs any other related duties assigned to support Project
Management.
- Interfaces and aligns with Global Operations on strategy
development and project execution as need. Quality
- Align with GMPs, site policies, work instructions, and standard
operating procedures (SOPs).
- Immediately reports quality-related issues that have the
potential to impact product launch and/or transfer. Safety
- Maintains a safe work environment by following all Health and
Safety policies and procedures; immediately reports potentially
unsafe conditions to supervision.
- Uses Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Follows AZ SHE policies/Maintains safety conditions in the area
and function occupied/ Respects SHE signalling and
recommendations/Aligns with the trainings which is summoned
to/Aligns with SHE procedures/Participates annually in the Building
Evacuation Plan training. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering,
Science, Business, Supply Chain, or other related pharmaceutical
science. A minimum of 5 years of project management and/or relevant
work experience with preference in the pharmaceutical
industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, influence,
negotiation, problem solving, strategic thinking, and leadership in
a matrix environment.
- Self-motivated with high degree of adaptability in dealing with
an ambiguous, complex, and fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to connect and collaborate with cross-functional
departments across all levels of the organization (e.g.,
Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Pharmaceutical
Development, Marketing and Global Operations Leadership Team) to
enable development and execution of realistic plans.
- Proven ability to lead global cross-functional project
teams.
- Demonstrated ability to foster performance teamwork and
establish strong working relationships with key internal and
external collaborators.
- Ability to achieve results as well as take balanced risks and
drive decisions.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation
skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate/communicate
with team members and all levels of leadership and/or represent the
Department in key leadership forums.
- Demonstrated leadership, self-confidence, and effective
decision-making throughout a project.
- Demonstrated ability to create detailed project plans, meet
schedules/timelines, and handle multiple priorities. Ability to
plan and complete multiple project tasks/projects
concurrently.
- A thorough understanding of how specific organizational
functions contribute to the development, introduction, and
management of products.
- Demonstrated command of project management tools such as
Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, or equivalent.
- Proven expertise in successfully delivering business critical
projects. Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management courses and/or credentials are desirable;
PMP certification preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of product life
cycle management.
- Experience with commercialization and launch of new
products.
- Experience with lean concepts and tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of external customer base and supply
chain.
